deco board

Minted has just launched it’s new collection of Save The Date designs for 2013! I am excited to have 3 new designs included in the collection. The above inspiration board was created featuring one of those designs, Deco Date. The art deco era has always been a source of inspiration to me and a style that I love incorporating into my own work. Strong shapes, bold uses of color, and plenty of glitz and glamour is what that time period was all about! The above design is intended to be a save the date, but this is the type of wedding I imagine it being paired with. You can see all of the new designs here!

I was overjoyed to be included in a feature on the wonderful Style Me Pretty site last week! I have been a SMP fan for some time and love what they do for the wedding industry. If you or someone you know is planning a wedding it is definitely a great resource to use. They have links to several of the best vendors for photography, stationery, flowers, cakes, catering, etc. The feature from last week spotlighted 3 designers from Minted (including your truly!) and gave readers a peek into our work spaces. Even Desmond made a brief cameo in the post!

And here are some of the photos I styled for the post:

Thank you Minted for the amazing opportunity!

Well it’s that time of year again…the long summer wait as the Minted team makes their selections for the 2012 Holiday collection. The challenge closed mid June, but we will not receive any results until late September. It’s only a few months, but it is a very, very grueling wait. This year’s over 2600 submissions were seriously stunning and made for some very exciting competition. I enjoy being pushed and motivated, and this group of designers definitely does that! I really tried to put my best foot forward with my submissions and now all that’s left to do is cross my fingers and hope for the best. Cannot wait to see the final picks…whether or not I am included I know it will be a gorgeous collection.

Here’s a peak at some of my cards that made it to the final round of voting:

I just recently had a new suite of wedding invites launch over on Minted, and I could not be more delighted! This was my first big step into the wedding world and I had the best time coming up with color stories, themes, and flipping through the latest bridal magazines. I had such a great time that I am in the beginnings stages of designing a new collection that I plan to launch myself some time this summer. Stay posted for additional details!

For now, here are a few inspiration boards I put together featuring new Minted invites! I love inspiration boards…so many pretty things all in one place!

Modern Coral Wedding

I am totally in love with these prints by Danny Haas! They have a very retro vibe but still manage to incorporate some modern flair. I think it would be so fun to get a few and frame them all together in matching frames…now I just need to find a place to put them! They are definitely going on my Christmas wish list 🙂

I saw this video the other day on the DKNG blog and just had to share! Not only is the camera work beautiful, but so is the end result. Love all the brush work details and mixing of mediums! [On a side note…she is wearing bleached peacock feather earrings…I have been dying to get my hands on a pair]

Today I was browsing a few recaps of the NYIGF on the Oh So Beautiful Paper blog and stumbled across the work of a Los Angeles design company called Artecnica! How in the world have I not heard of these folks before?! Absolutely stunning products, at a somewhat affordable price! They have some of the most unique products I’ve seen in a long time – from lighting and interior goods, to  stationery and cards. I think the cost was the only thing keeping me from not ordering every product on their site…that and the idea of Desmond sliding down one of the chandeliers as he rips it to shreds. Take a look for yourself!

The above flower cards are my favorite!! Check out a video of how they open up here! Most of the items are made from very thin pieces of metal so they are very durable, but still have a feeling of delicacy to them. I’ve never been to the NYIGF but after seeing the recaps and learning more about some fabulous companies I may be buying a ticket in January!
